Welcome to HMCE 2009!

Hello!

We hope you're getting excited for the conference, which is just a few weeks away! We just wanted to encourage you to post any questions here on the HMCE Message Board that you may have as you prepare for the Senate I committee. We'd love to help however we can! We're really looking forward to meeting and working with you all soon!

Best wishes,
Ariel & Marc

Hello Ariel and Marc,

My name is Benjamin Baker and I will be in your delegation for Senate I as Senator John Ensign from Nevada. I would just Like to ask how much of the debate on human trafficking do you think will be spent on prostitution because that was the mian topic of your study guide. This is because I feel that prostitution will be the concentration of the debate and therefore get a lot more attention than other topics that are just as important. I'm just curious.

Thank you,
Benjamin Baker (Jonh Ensign)

Hey Benjamin,

Prostitution was indeed a major focus of the materials since sex trafficking is one of the most commonly discussed aspects of human trafficking. However, you are correct in saying that there are many aspects of this debate that are every bit as important, and we will most definitely be discussing those aspects as well. You should not feel constrained to the materials in the briefing and update so long as the debate is limited to human trafficking itself. Feel free to approach any human trafficking issues that you wish!

Hope this helps!

Ariel
